L3 Harris needed a centralized location for Quality Engineering information and knowledge sharing. As the UX Researcher and Quality Engineer in the R&D Group, I was responsible for generative research, A/B Testing, and surveys.
My creation of "The Info Hub" eliminated the need for tribal knowledge, and created an environment for information sharing for all quality engineers. Improved staff operations via internal information hub held on SharePoint to improve user engagement and skills with quality engineering members. Research methods included user interviews, skills assessment surveys, usability studies on iterative designs, and a competitive analysis.
As a User Experience Engineer for the Quality Center of Excellence group, I streamlined standard documents, trainings, and procedures for the company. I gathered information from company surveys to help establish content for the Quality Information Hub. I researched tools available to us for disseminating the information. I developed content and obtained management approvals. I also designed the page where the information was housed.
The data from the skills assessment survey drove the content for the Quality Info Hub. Data mining this information was the best way to serve the quality organization to find out their specific needs. Most content came from the open-ended questions. The company prioritized this initiative, but the project was initially understaffed, and more resources were added as the project evolved, which helped the ideation phase.
